Technology

The TOTAL protein assay reagent is based on the Bradford principle. Proteins bind to Coomassie Brilliant Blue in an acidic solution and absorb the light at a wavelength of 595 nm. The assay is quick and easy: simply mix the diluted reagent with 1/10 volume of the protein solution and read the light absorbance at 595 nm. Standard clear 96-well plates or cuvettes can be used for absorbance reading.
